SpongeBob is 10 years old! What'a boy!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO STEVE HILLENBURG !

Honestly, it seems as if only last week that Steve and I were having a conversation at Cal Arts in the Experimental Animation lab while Steve was drawing backgrounds on his thesis film, "Wormholes."  Such a great film ... I show it to students all the time.  I remember that he had just won the Princess Grace award.   Who would have ever guessed that SpongeBob was in his future? Likely, Jules.

This entry is starting to sound like geezers talking about the past so I won't continue down that road, but big congratulations, Steve, on SpongeBob's tenth birthday!  You continue to keep a smile on my face ... and on massive amounts of other kids' faces no matter their age.
